Five every-day life situations:
• Group message between my friends about what we want to do over fall break. Debating on whether or not we should go to NYC, visit friends from other colleges, or just stay in Charlotte. The biggest factor in determining what we do is cost and transportation.
• “Thank You” cards for the people who came to my high school graduation party or sent me graduation money. I would thank them for whatever they got me, and I would tell them what I was going to use it for and how it was going to be helpful to me in college.
• Texting my mom a grocery list with the following:
- Dinner food
- Lunch meats
- Snacks (bars, chips, nuts, fruit)
- Drinks (Gatorade, water, iced teas)
- Breakfast food
• Texting friends about plans for the night telling them to come over when I get out of class, so we can go out to dinner and then talk about what we want to do after dinner.
• Emailing a football coach with my personal information, why I want to play for them, what I like about the school, times I can go on visits to check out the facilities, and a link to my highlight tape. Always ending those with a “Thank you and goodluck this season” - John Biasucci
Career Situations- Professional Football
• Writing to agents about hiring them
• Writing to agents about upcoming contracts and how I would like to further my career. How much money I am willing to accept and how many years my contact will be for.
• Writing to football coaches (if not drafted) about going out for a try-out and telling them who I am, where I’m from, etc.
• Emailing recruiters asking them to come watch some college games, practices, or camps.
• Emailing coaches or recruiters about going to the team’s mini camp as an opportunity to present myself in front of them and show them what I can do.
Career Situations- Real Estate
• Sending an email to my manager about what needs to be taken care of for the week.
• Writing a business proposal in order to get a loan from the bank with business plans, construction costs, location, time log, etc.
• Texting any business partners about plans for the future- building more, expanding already built complexes, building in different locations???
• Letters to residents staying in the apartments thanking them for living with us, explaining the layout, recreational facilities, pool, nearby restaurants, stores, and schools.
• Texting construction workers about when to work and what to work on that day- stone, cement, lawns, buildings, drywall, plumbing??
